XII International Film Festival of Human Rights


The festival is organized from the full conviction that "every woman, man and child, to realize their full human potential must be aware of all their human, civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights" (Resolution 49 / 184 of the UN General Assembly). The purpose of the festival is to promote a forum for reflection and debate leading to the fore the issue of human rights in the world through artistic representation contained in the performance of films and videos from independent producers. The festival gives ample scope for political cinema, promoting individual rights and democratic freedoms and tolerance and respect for the rights of minorities, also much attention is given to social rights to employment, conditions decent living and all efforts to the rebuilding of solidarity, and finally, also are of great interest issues with the rights of peoples to self-determination, cultural identity, development and a healthy environment.

The selected works should reflect the theme of the festival, and witness to describe not only violations and crises but also any individual or collective search, expressive and aesthetic to inquire into the situation of modern man in relation to their social and natural environment . It calls for independent filmmakers and videographers, sensitive to these concerns, to participate with their works and have DERHUMALC Festival as an area of dissemination of the same. As part of the festival, there will debates, panel discussions, special screenings and meetings between the public and authors, with the participation of experts, personalities and people's organizations
